Fine
dining abounds with literally hundreds
of dining choices to consider during your
Panama City Beach vacation. The new and
exciting Pier Park offers many choices.
Naturally, seafood is the main fare on
the beach, but there are also plenty of
fine choices for the land lovers (steak
eaters) also. You might want to schedule
one night at the world famous Captain Anderson's
restaurant. Captain Anderson's is world
renowned for their seafood dishes. For
breakfast, lunch or dinner, you’ll
find whatever you like, including seafood,
steak, southern barbeque, burgers, asain,
pizza, and oyster bars, just to name a
few.
There are 20 golf courses within 40 miles of Panama
City Beach. Golf Digest magazine ranked Panama City
Beach as the best little golf town in America in
2002. Bay Point's 36 holes, include the Lagoon Legend,
once ranked as the most difficult golf course in
the world. Its course rating of 75.3 and slope rating
of 152 still rank among the world's toughest. The
Hombre Golf Club features 27 holes (each nine has
its own personality and are affectionately known
as the 'good' the 'bad' and the 'ugly'). Hombre annually
hosts the second stage of PGA Tour qualifying. Other
courses include Holiday Golf Club (a bit tamer than
Hombre and Bay Point), Shark's Tooth (a Greg Norman
design), Signal Hill (even tamer than Holiday), and
Nature Walk (an executive course in Lynn Haven).
Shipwreck Island water park is Panama City Beach's
only water park and offers thrill rides, family rides,
a wave pool, and a large children's area known as the
tadpole hole.
Shell
Island is an undeveloped breaker island,
accessible only by boat, just east of St
Andrews State Park and is a favorite hang
out for Panama City Beach locals. Shuttle
boat trips to Shell Island are offered
from many Panama City Beach locations.
